Voter ID Card – Online Application, Correction & Download Voter Card

The Voter ID card, also called EPIC, is issued by the Election Commission of India to people who are eligible to vote.

It mainly contains your name, age, address and a unique voter number. Once your name is added to the voter list, you can use this card during elections.

Apart from voting, many people also use it as identity proof while opening bank accounts, applying for services, etc.

You can apply for a Voter ID in the following situations:

• When you have completed 18 years of age
• If you recently shifted to a new city or area
• If there is any mistake in your existing card
• If your name is not present in the voter list
• In case your card is lost or damaged

If you need to correct any detail:

• Login on the voter portal
• Select correction option
• Enter your voter ID number
• Update the required details
• Upload proof and submit

While applying, you may need to upload some basic documents:

• A recent passport size photo
• Identity proof like Aadhaar card
• Address proof (electricity bill, bank passbook, etc.)
• Date of birth proof (10th marksheet or birth certificate)
• A mobile number for OTP
